Altoona Railfest '98 excursions 10/3/1998

A MARC train was used for Altoona Railfest '98 excursions around Horseshoe Curve and up the mountain to the loop track at Gallitzin and return to Altoona. MARC 51 and 65 GP40WH-2s was the motive power used in pull-pull configuration eliminating the need to run around the train for each trip out of Altoona. The train is seen here with MARC 51 leading westbound exiting Allegheny Tunnel.
